Phase 1 Turnover

 

  • SHS - East Parking Lot

 

SBPS Turnover to Hausmann Construction - May 27, 2016

Estimated Completion Date – Spring of 2018

 

Turnover of this area allowed for early construction of the Construction, Ag, & Skilled Trades Area.  Items such as parking lot demo, footings, and masonry walls have been completed or are underway. A construction fence was erected on the north side of the existing parking lot.  Access to the back or north side of SHS is still available from 2nd Avenue.  Construction fencing on the west was extended from the northeast corner of the building to north.  There will be no access to the building from 5th Avenue.

  • SHS - Board Room

 

SBPS Turnover to Hausmann Construction - May 27, 2016

Estimated Completion Date – August of 2016


The Board Room will be unavailable from May 27th until August 16, 2016.  Hausmann will turn the space back over to the district August 3, 2016 so that the SBPS Facility Management team can have the space ready for the start of the fall semester.  SBPS will have use of the space until fine arts area for band and choir in Area C are available over Christmas Break 2016.  Following the move of the band/choir classrooms, the space will be turned back over to Hausmann to facilitate Phase 2 construction of the Library, Freshman Academy and Credit Recovery program.

 

  • SHS - Locker Rooms & Competition Gym

 

SBPS Turnover to Hausmann Construction - March 11, 2016

Estimated Completion Date – Phased Occupancy with Final Completion September 26, 2016

 

Due to unforeseen existing site conditions that resulted in minor delays, the gym and locker rooms will not be available at the start of school in August, but will be available in fall of 2016.  The phased occupancy of the space is as follows:

    • Gym – August 31, 2016
    • Men’s Home Locker Room – August 31, 2016
    • Women’s Home Locker Room – September 12, 2016
    • Men’s & Women’s Visitor Locker Rooms – September 26, 2016

  

  • SHS - Commons, Administration, Activities, and Security

 

Estimated Completion Date – October 24, 2016

Use of new South Entry begins – January 16, 2017

 

The new South entry including Administration offices, commons, activities offices and security offices will be turned in the fall of 2016.  While, the original intent was to occupy the space at completion and convert to the use of the south entry concurrently, logistical challenges surfaced.  After consideration of factors such as temporary fire alarms, fire walls, furniture delivery and set up, public address systems, and data systems, the decision was made to occupy the new area as the classroom wing is completed in January of 2017.  The phased occupancy is as follows:

      • Commons, Activities, Security, Admin (Areas A & H) – October 24, 2016
        • Move in slated for Christmas Break 2016, Occupancy January 2017
  • Begin use of new south entry – January 2017
  1. SHS - Kitchen

Turn over Date to Kitchen Equipment Contractor – November 14, 2016

Estimated Completion Date – December 26, 2016

Use of new Kitchen – January 9, 2017

 

The kitchen area was originally slated for turnover on December 26, 2016 and was subsequently revised to November 18, 2016.  However, logistical challenges surfaced.  After consideration of factors such as temporary fire alarms, temporary fire walls, furniture delivery and set up, kitchen equipment delivery and set up, public address systems, and data systems, the decision was made to occupy the new area as the classroom wing is completed in January of 2017.  The parking area between the Splash and SHS will now be available until January of 2017 when it will subsequently be turned over to Hausmann to allow for demolition of the existing kitchen area.

 

  • SHS - Classroom Wing (Areas D, E, & F), Auditorium (Area B), and Fine Arts ( Area C)

 

Estimated Completion Date – Phased Occupancy with Final Completion January 9, 2017 (See below)

Move to new classroom wing – Phased Occupancy from December 12, 2016 – January 16, 2017 (See below)

 

Our current intent is to move into the new classroom wing over the Christmas Break, from December 22, 2016 through January 16, 2017.  Portions of the building will be available for furniture delivery and set up in the weeks prior to Christmas Break. We will set up furniture and move items, as spaces become available. As soon as students and staff have moved out of the existing classroom wing, demolition of the current west entry and classroom room wing will begin immediately.  The phased occupancy is as follows:

  • Commons, Activities, Security, Admin (Areas A & H) –
    • Construction estimate completion - October 24, 2016
    • Furniture estimated delivery & set up - December 12, 2016
    • SBPS Occupancy & Use – January 16, 2017
  • Kitchen & Serveries -
    • Construction estimate completion – November 14, 2016
    • Equipment Delivery, Set-up, and Training estimated completion – December 26, 2016
    • Use of new kitchen – January 9, 2017
  • Classroom Wing, 2nd Floor (Areas D, E, & F) –
    • Construction estimate completion – December 5, 2016
    • Furniture estimated delivery & set up – December 12, 2016 (to follow Commons, Activities, Security, & Admin)
    • SBPS Occupancy & Use – January 16, 2017
  • Classroom Wing, 1st Floor (Areas D, E, & F),  Auditorium (Area B), Fine Arts (Band, Choir, & Orchestra) (Area C)
    • Construction estimate completion – January 9, 2017
    • Furniture estimated delivery & set up – January 9, 2017
    • SBPS Occupancy & Use – January 16, 2017

 

  • SHS - West Parking Lot

 

In order to facilitate demo of the west entry area and existing classroom wing, beginning approximately December 22, 2016 the section of the west parking lot, north of the island, will no longer be available.  A parking plan is being developed by the SHS Administration and will be communicated in the fall.
